Glass can be classified into four major categories: ordinary flat glass, specialty glass, value-added glass products, and acrylic glass.

Ordinary flat glass is typically installed in doors, windows, and partitions. In certain special areas or rooms—such as bathrooms—embossed glass, tinted glass, or frosted glass is used to provide natural light while maintaining privacy. For north-facing rooms, heat-absorbing or insulated (double-glazed) glass can help with thermal insulation and energy efficiency. In specific applications—such as partitions, murals, doors and windows, and ceilings—stained glass, etched glass, and glass bricks are employed to enhance the interior’s artistic appeal.

Frosted glass, also known as ground glass, is translucent but not transparent, providing soft, non-glaring illumination indoors. It is commonly used for window panes in areas requiring privacy, such as bathrooms, and can also be employed in glass skylights.

Embossed glass, also known as knurled glass, is produced by pressing a patterned roller onto one or both sides of the glass before it hardens, creating varying depths of decorative motifs. When used in interior doors and windows, embossed glass allows light to pass through while obscuring the view, making it ideal for interior partitions or doors and windows that divide spaces.

The primary function of mirrored glass is to create a reflective visual effect; when used as a facade, it can also produce a decorative impression that visually extends the depth of a space. Beyond applications such as makeup mirrors and wardrobe doors, it can be incorporated into wall décor to achieve an optical effect that makes a room appear larger.
